Hello!
I’m Ziggy, glad to meet you! I’m the heart of SquareFortyTwo Design. I’ve been working for more than 8 years with a wide variety of companies to develop their online presence that allows them to stand out.
I don’t just work alone, I team up with a number of brilliant individuals on bigger projects to fulfil your company’s needs.
Design & Development on Squarespace
websites
I regularly work with Squarespace as a website design and development tool. It provides a fantastic platform for creating great-looking, functional, and responsive websites, that are also very easy to manage for my clients. That said, I will always assess your needs as a client, and utilize the most appropriate solution. For projects that need a greater level of complexity in the build, I may use Webflow, and for extensive e-commerce, Shopify may be the solution for you. Schedule a call with me to discuss your needs. Logos & design
branding
From colours to logos and graphics, I work with clients to develop a design language for their brand or company. The branding must speak to what you do and your values, and clearly pass this message on to your clients, that’s why I work very closely to learn this for myself before picking up pen and paper (or digital pen and paper). Copywriting & Content Strategy
content
Content is really important. It is the building block that the user experience and design rely on to tell your story. I spend time with every client making sure that we get the content stretegised and written to a high level before starting any work on the design of the website. This sometimes just involves me, and other times involves a specialist content strategist and copywriter, which will depend wholly on your needs. Set up a call to learn more.
“Just try to make it sound like you wrote it that way on purpose.”
—Arthur Howitzer Jr. of The French Dispatch
Website user experience & interaction
ux/ui
How a website user interacts with a company online is heavily influenced by the way the page is laid out and the way that the content and design interact. We always want to consider two things; what a user may be looking for on your website; and what you want that user to do on your website. Creating a balance of these two things will make the user happy, stay on your website longer and most importantly make it to the point where they complete one of the websites end goals (fill out a form, sign up for emails, make a purchase, etc.). Guides, Musings, & more…
I work on Squarespace designing websites for clients, I also spend a little time helping fellow Squarespace users on their forum, through this I’ve found a number of common (and plenty of not-so-common) customizations and best practices that I hope will be useful to write up and place here for anyone to use, I hope something here helps you.
